Asthma Patient Education Survey Now Available

From InJAC member Vicky Hicks, RRT, AE-C with IU Health Bloomington's Asthma Education Team:

I am writing this note to give all of you some background regarding the upcoming Asthma Patient Education Survey which is being conducted by the Health Care Provider’s Workgroup of the Indiana Joint Asthma Coalition (InJAC). The new State Asthma Plan has as one of its goals patient education. One of the problems we faced was identifying how asthma patient education was being currently provided in Indiana. We needed to identify how asthma related patient education was being provided in both the inpatient as well as the outpatient areas. A survey of asthma inpatient education has now been completed. This survey will be placed on the InJAC website. We would like to draw your attention to this effort and we hope that you will spend a few moments completing it.

The survey tool will allow us to track various aspects of inpatient asthma education such as; 

  1. the types of asthma educational tools currently being used,
  2. the specific topics being covered
  3. the types of health care providers providing inpatient asthma education

This endeavor will also help introduce you to InJAC, the State Asthma Plan, and all the resources available to you. It may also serve as a way to recruit you into our organization. We plan to share the results of the survey so be sure to include your e-mail address if you are interested in receiving results of the survey or need further information about InJAC.

I strongly encourage you to take some time out of your busy schedule to complete the survey.
